Summer Basketball Camp!
Stanton Viking/Viqueen Basketball camp a success. What a neat and rewarding atmosphere! Student athletes were invited to join the JH and HS coaching staffs for a 3-day camp to help prepare them for their summer games and give them some skills and drills that they can work on in the off-season. The camp focused on the fundamentals of basketball. The participants had a chance to compete in skill competitions and 2 on 2 / 3 on 3 games. The teamwork and competitiveness was fantastic! All of the athletes did a great job of encouraging each other and cheering for their successes!
Also, athletes requested more open gym time this summer, and the coaches are going to make that happen around the boys varsity games. Starting this past Sunday, June 5, the gym will be open from 5:00-6:30 for grades 5-8 and 6:30-8:00 for grades 9-12. Below is a list of competitive event and camp award winners:
