Stanton Government Class Hosts Veterans Day Program!
The Senior Government class, taught by Mr. Dave Snyder, has been working hard to prepare for their program to honor veterans. This morning all their hard work came together as the presented the Veterans Day Program. This year their presentation focused on the Korean War, as 3 groups of seniors went out to interview Wayne Donohue, Ron Hart and Dorothy Elarton. Each group sat down with their interviewee and asked them about the part they played in this particular war. They all came away with a great deal of information and heard many interesting stories. The students came back and put together a presentation of the three veterans for today program.
This morning the veterans were offered a breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and fruit. There were well over 20 veterans and guests that took part in this breakfast. Following the breakfast, the program began with the Presentation of the Colors, followed by presentations by the band and choir. The program continued with the reading of the President’s Veterans Day Proclamation by Nick M., the History of Veterans Day by Shelby B. and Savanna M., the Introduction of the Veterans by Hannah E. and Nina P., History of the Korean War by Nick M. and Taps was played by Charles D. and Cameron S.
