Athletic Banquet:

The Athletic Banquet will be held on Friday, April 15th.  The menu for that evening will be a choice of pork chop or beef roast, cheesy hash brown casserole, vegetable, roll and a dessert.  The cost of the meal will be $8.00 for all guests who would like to attend.  Please make sure to sign up in the high school office by April 4th if you are planning on attending.  Meals will be provided for the coaches as well as the athletes.

 

After Prom:

The Stanton After Prom Committee is working on planning a safe and fun evening for all the prom goers on Saturday, April 30th.  The entertainment provided for the students that evening are funded by donations the committee receives from donors.  If you or your business would like to make a donation to the after prom activities the Stanton After Prom Committee as well as the students would greatly appreciate it.  Please contact Wendy Confer at (712)621-2816 or Dawn Weis at (712)370-8880 if you would like to make a donation or have any questions.

The Seventh and Eighth graders recently presented Science Fair Projects at school. There were several great projects this year that will be advancing to the Corner Conference Science Fair which will be held April 20th at Fremont-Mills.  The following are the students that will be attending and their project titles.

Viking Center Softball Pitching Clinic

 

The Viking Center will once again be hosting a Softball Pitching Clinic to be held on Sunday afternoons beginning April 17th.  Pitching expert Denny Stanton will give his advice, teaching the fundamentals how to become the best Softball Pitcher you can be!  This clinic is open to all girls, grades 3-12.  We will meet for three Sunday sessions:  4/17, 4/24, and 5/1.  Participants that are in grades 3rd-7th will have their clinic session from 2:00pm-3:30pm, and grades 8th-12th will be from 3:30pm-5:00pm each of the three Sundays.  Cost of the program is $10 for Viking Center members and $20 for non-members.

Registration forms can be found at the Viking Center, the Stanton Community Schools, or on the Viking Center website:  www.stantonvikingcenter.com.  Registration forms are due by Friday April 15th!  Forms can be turned into the Viking Center or mailed to:  Viking Center, PO Box 42, Stanton IA 51573.  Any questions, please contact the Viking Center at:  712-829-2900 or email:  vikingcenter@myfmtc.com.

 

2016 Viking Center Softball/Baseball Program

It's that time of year again!  Softball and baseball is right around the corner, so be sure to get your child signed up.  The 2016 Viking Center Softball/Baseball Program will be having a team for all grade levels, and they will be broken down as follows:

  • 1st/2nd Grade Softball & Baseball

  • 3rd/4th Grade Softball & Baseball

  • 5th/6th Grade Softball & Baseball

  • Junior High Softball & Baseball (Grades 7th & 8th)

The season for all grade levels will begin in May at dates later to be determined.  Registration forms and uniform order forms are located at the Viking Center, the Stanton Elementary Office, and on our website:  www.stantonvikingcenter.com.  Cost for the program is FREE for Viking Center members, and $30 for non-members.  The cost of a uniform, if needed, is extra.  The registration deadline is Friday April 22nd!
