MAY 8, 2018, SPECIAL JOINT MEETING OF THE STANTON SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND FREMONT-MILLS SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS MINUTES
The Stanton School District Board of Directors met at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, May 8, 2018, at Fremont-Mills Community School, Room 212, for a special joint session with the Fremont-Mills School Board of Directors. President Brian Bates called the meeting to order with Directors Travis Taylor, Amy Tibben, Paul Vanderholm, and Tom Weis present. Additional attendee was Board Secretary Tammy Boyer. Also present from the Fremont-Mills School Board of Directors: Todd Morgan, Eli Forney, Trent Jones, Keith Barber, Shannon Smith, Susan Shepherd, Board Secretary, and Kirsten Heard, Business Manager.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Director Vanderholm made a motion to approve the agenda with a second by Director Tibben. The motion carried unanimously.
CLOSED SESSION AS REQUESTED BY CANDIDATES
Director Taylor made a motion to move into Closed Session per Iowa Code 21.5 of the Open Meeting Law to Evaluate the Professional Competency of Individuals being Considered for Possible Hiring for the Shared Superintendent of Schools Position with a second by Director Tibben. The motion carried unanimously.
The board went into closed session at 6:31 PM.
Ray and Associates representatives, Dr. Lane Plugge and Dr. Dick Christie joined the closed session at 7:31 PM.
The board returned to open session at 9:44 PM.
APPROVAL OF 2018 GRADUATION CANDIDATES
Director Taylor made a motion to approve the Class of 2018 for Commencement pending completion of graduation requirements with a second by Director Tibben. The motion carried unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT
President Bates adjourned the meeting at 9:46 PM.
