FEBRUARY 28, 2018, SPECIAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES

The Stanton School District Board of Directors met at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, in the High School Library for a special session. President Brian Bates called the meeting to order with Directors Travis Taylor, Amy Tibben, Paul Vanderholm, and Tom Weis present. Additional attendees were Superintendent Chris Herrick, K-12 Principal Kevin Blunt, Business Manager Shirley Maxwell, and Board Secretary Tammy Boyer.

 

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Director Tibben made a motion to approve the agenda with a second by Director Vanderholm. The motion carried unanimously.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Director Vanderholm made a motion to approve the minutes of the February 19, 2018, meeting with a second by Director Weis. The motion carried unanimously.

 

CONSIDERATION OF BILLS

Director Weis made a motion to approve the bills with a second by Director Taylor.  The motion carried unanimously.

 

BUDGET PUBLICATION AND HEARING DATES

Director Weis made a motion to set the Budget Publication Date for March 8, 2018, and Public Hearing Date of March 21, 2018, with a second by Director Taylor.  The motion carried unanimously.

 

SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH JOINT BOARD MEETING WITH FREMONT-MILLS & RAY AND ASSOCIATES, DR. RICHARD CHRISTIE/DR. LANE PLUGGE

Fremont-Mills Community School Board and Ray and Associates representatives joined the meeting at 6:30 PM.  Dr. Richard Christie and Dr. Lane Plugge presented to both boards on how the search and hiring process for the Superintendent position will work under the guidance of Ray and Associates, as well as, a timeline for the process.

 

SUPERINTENDENT APPLICATION TEMPLATE

Director Vanderholm made a motion to approve the superintendent application template presented by Ray and Associates with a second by Director Taylor.  The motion carried unanimously.

 

ADJOURNMENT

President Bates adjourned the meeting at 8:54 PM.
