Athletic Banquet:
The Athletic Banquet will be held on April 21, 2017. It will be held at the Viking Center this year. The meal being served is a pork chop, baked potato, corn, roll, dessert and a drink. The cost of the meal will be $8.00. The meals for the coaches and athletes will be provided to them at no cost. See you there!

Corner Conference Art Show:
Corner Conference art show will be held at Stanton this year, April 22, Saturday night public viewing from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Monday, April 24, school and public viewing from 8:00 am to 11:30 am.

Viking Center Softball Pitching Clinic 2017:
The Viking Center in Stanton will be hosting a Softball Pitching Clinic to be held on Sunday afternoons beginning April 23rd. Pitching expert Denny Stanton will give his advice, teaching all of the fundamentals to become the best softball pitcher you can be! This clinic is open to girls currently in 3rd-12th grades (this includes girls outside of Stanton). We will meet for three Sunday sessions: 4/23, 4/30 and 5/7. Participants that are in grades 3rd-7th will have their clinic session from 2:00pm-3:30pm, and grades 8th-12th will be from 3:30pm-5:00pm each of the three Sundays. Cost of the program is $10 for Viking Center members and $20 for non-members.
Registration forms can be found at the Viking Center, the Stanton Community Schools, or on the Viking Center website: www.stantonvikingcenter.com. Registration forms should be turned in by Friday April 21st. Forms can be turned into the Viking Center or mailed to: Viking Center, PO Box 42, Stanton IA 51573. 2017 Viking Center Softball/Baseball Program:
Softball and baseball are right around the corner, so be sure to get your child signed up! The 2017 Viking Center Softball/Baseball Program will be having a team for almost all grade levels, and they will be broken down as follows:
- 1st/2nd Grade Softball & Baseball
- 3rd/4th Grade Softball & Baseball
- 5th/6th Grade Softball & Baseball
- Junior High Baseball (Grades 7th & 8th)
The season for the above grade levels will begin in May at dates later to be determined. Registration forms and uniform order forms are located at the Viking Center, the Stanton Elementary Office, and on our website: www.stantonvikingcenter.com. Cost for the program is FREE for Viking Center members and $30 for non-members. The cost of a uniform, if needed, will be extra. The registration deadline is Friday April 21st!

Spring Clean Up

Containers will be located at the City Maintenance Building
You may drop off junk, old furniture, wood, appliances, metal and other such items. We will also accept batteries. Please separate metal from other junk as metal will go in a separate trailer. Senior and disabled citizens who are unable to transport their items can call 829-2613 to arrange for pickup on Friday the 21st from 8am-3pm.
We will NOT accept brush, limbs, trees or leaves. These items are accepted at the City Dump.
Please note: NO HAZARDOUS WASTE, EXPLOSIVES, TIRES, TVS, COMPUTERS, LIQUIDS, PAINT, RAILROAD TIES OR RAW GARBAGE.
