SCHOOL LUNCH CHANGE:

If you plan on eating lunch with your child at school you MUST pay for your lunch and receive a lunch ticket in one of the offices before going to the lunchroom.

Cost of lunch is $4.25.

 

Holiday Food Drive:

 The Student Council would like to join the Elementary classes and have a Holiday Food Drive to help area families. We want to have a contest for all K-12th classes, to see who can “rack up” the most points from December 12th-December 21st. The following point system will allow us to see which class can earn the most points. The class with the most points will earn a movie and pizza party in January!

5 POINTS-Cereal, Peanut Butter, Toilet Paper, Laundry Detergent

4 POINTS-Flour, Sugar, Canned Meat, Spaghetti Sauce, Canned Meals (spaghettios, ravioli, stew, or chili) Soups, Canned Meats (chicken or tuna)                                                     

3 POINTS-Hamburger/Tuna Helper, Macaroni and Cheese, Cake/Brownie/Muffin Mixes, Instant Mashed Potatoes, Beans, Oatmeal, Crackers, Rice, Paper Towels, Kleenex, Juice

2 POINTS-Dish Soap, Hand Soap, Body Soap, Shampoo, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Mouthwash, Pizza Sauce, Pasta, Pie Filling

1 POINT-Any other Canned Good (fruits and vegetables), boxed

Jell-O, boxed Pudding

Please make sure to be checking the scholarship bulletin online and in the office for upcoming scholarships that may be due soon!

 

Denton Door Fundraiser:

 

Stanton Jr./Sr. High School will be having a fundraiser to raise money for Denton Roberts.  The fundraiser will consist of filling your ‘door’ with dollar bills the week of December 12-16th.  For each $1 a student brings, a fake dollar bill will be given to place on the door.  Students are encouraged to bring more than $1 in order to reach the goal. The class(es) to reach their goal of filling their door to the designated amount (which has been equally set for each class) will be able to choose ONE class period to miss for the day.  Students will be exempt from any assignments that will be handed out on the ‘skip period’, Tuesday, December 20th.

 

Mrs. Erickson and Mrs. Stephens will chaperone the class(es) that win the fundraising contest.  Students will go to the Viking Center during the class period.  Students may play games, hang out, etc.  The winning class(es), is the class that reaches their designated amount first.  If the winning class reaches and exceeds their goal, Mrs. Stephens and Mrs. Erickson will bring treats for the students to eat while at the Viking Center.

 

The winner will be announced at the basketball game on Friday, December 16th.

 

Stanton Clothing:

The Stanton Booster Club has ordered more Stanton clothing just in time for Christmas.  Please stop by the elementary school office and take a look!!  The Stanton Booster Club would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.  Thank you so much for all the support throughout the year!!

 

Lil’ Vikes Basketball Program 2017

 

The Viking Center will be hosting its third “Lil’ Vikes” youth basketball program for children Pre-K (4yrs old +) through 2nd grade.  Participants will be introduced the basic fundamentals of the game including dribbling, passing, rebounding, offensive and defensive motions, and shooting.  We will meet for 6 one hour sessions on Saturday mornings, beginning Saturday January 7th 2017, lasting through February 25th from 9:00am-10:00am (excluding January 28th and February 11th).  T-shirts will be provided for all participants.  Cost for the program is $10 for Viking Center members and $25 for non-members (t-shirts included in cost of program).

 

Registration forms can be found at the Viking Center and on our website:  www.stantonvikingcenter.com.  Forms can also be found at the Stanton Elementary Office.  Registration is due by Wednesday January 4th!  Forms can be turned into the elementary office or the Viking Center.  Please make checks payable to:  Stanton Viking Center, PO Box 42, Stanton IA 51573.
