Notes from Guidance Office!

 

Juniors and Parents: Today

Mrs. Mainquist will host a Financial Aid Meeting for Juniors and their parents on Tuesday, April 18 at 6:00 in the high school library.

 

Please make sure to be checking the scholarship bulletin online and in the office for upcoming scholarships that may be due soon!

Online College Classes:

The Online classes will be shut down on Wednesday, April 19- Thursday, April 20th.

They will be back on line at 8:00AM Friday, April 21st!

Plan accordingly!!!


 

2017 Viking Center Softball/Baseball Program:

Softball and baseball are right around the corner, so be sure to get your child signed up!  The 2017 Viking Center Softball/Baseball Program will be having a team for almost all grade levels, and they will be broken down as follows:

-        1st/2nd Grade Softball & Baseball

-        3rd/4th Grade Softball & Baseball

-        5th/6th Grade Softball & Baseball

-        Junior High Baseball (Grades 7th & 8th)

The season for the above grade levels will begin in May at dates later to be determined.  Registration forms and uniform order forms are located at the Viking Center, the Stanton Elementary Office, and on our website:  www.stantonvikingcenter.com.  Cost for the program is FREE for Viking Center members and $30 for non-members.  The cost of a uniform, if needed, will be extra.  The registration deadline is Friday April 21st!

Wellness Wednesdays @ the Viking Center with Dr. Drew Whigham:  April 19th, 6:30pm-7:30pm

The Viking Center’s Wellness Wednesdays with Dr. Drew Whigham continues this month on April 19th from 6:30pm-7:30pm!

The topic of discussion for April will be “What are Calories?  Should You Be Counting Them”.  This session will be held in the Viking Room at the Viking Center.  This program is FREE and open to the public.  Dr. Drew will be discussing what Calories are, dispelling some common myths and outlining the role they should play in a healthy diet.

City of Stanton

Spring Clean Up

Saturday April 22

8:00am to 4:00pm

Containers will be located at the City Maintenance Building

You may drop off junk, old furniture, wood, appliances, metal and other such items.  We will also accept batteries.  Please separate metal from other junk as metal will go in a separate trailer.  Senior and disabled citizens who are unable to transport their items can call 829-2613 to arrange for pickup on Friday the 21st from 8am-3pm.

We will NOT accept brush, limbs, trees or leaves.  These items are accepted at the City Dump.

Please note: NO HAZARDOUS WASTE, EXPLOSIVES, TIRES, TVS, COMPUTERS, LIQUIDS, PAINT, RAILROAD TIES OR RAW GARBAGE.
