Homecoming Success!
Homecoming was a HUGE success this year. The weather was Beautiful and Parade worthy. Classes let out early at 11:30 for the annual Pancake Feed at the REC, many, many Stanton residents and students gather there for a feast of pancakes and sausage. Followed by the parade which highlights the Stanton Band, Class Floats, Homecoming Representatives, and several local groups and businesses. This year's float winners were:
Grand Prize went to the Sophomores Class of 2018
Beauty went to the Freshmen Class of 2019
Humor went to 6th Grade Class of 2022
Originality goes to the Seniors Class of 2016
Class Representatives were:
Freshmen: Savanna Moffett and Matthew Truka
Sophomores: Vivian Baucom and Austin Houston
Juniors: Ally Focht and Charlie Truka
Senior Court: Nicole Graham and Brady Johnson, Marcel Confer and Alex Becthold, Queen Devin Druivenga and King Jacob Lindgren.
Stanton Booster Club held a tailgate supper and grilled ribeye steak sandwiches and hamburgers before the game. The High School Cheerleaders sold balloons to release on the 1st touchdown of the game. While the concession stands were booth in full gear.
The Stanton Vikings met with the Essex Trojans on the field for a 7:00 kickoff. While they gave us much excitement for the evening, the final result was Stanton 72 - Essex 8. This was the first Homecoming victory for this year's Seniors and what a Victory it was.
All high students were able to celebrate and cap off the night at the Homecoming dance hosted by the Pep Club, with the theme of Under the Sea! Fun was had by all.
