Congratulations Drew!!

Drew Wilson was born on January 10, 1985 to Dave and Sandy Wilson. He loved all sports, and participated in baseball, basketball, football, track, and cross country. He did well in all high school sports, but he did especially well in track. He started off by running the mile in junior high. This helped him to become so good at the high school level.

When he got to high school he ran both the two mile and the mile. His senior year he also ran the 800 meter dash. He qualified for state his sophomore, junior, and senior year. His sophomore year he ran the two mile at state and placed 22nd. His junior year, he also ran the two mile at state and got second. His senior year was by far his best. He qualified for state in both the two mile and the mile. There he ran the two mile and placed a disappointing, but respectable fifth place. The next day he ran the mile and finished less than a second before second place to become Stanton's first male state champion in any sport.

Since Stanton sports have been going on for over eighty years, this is an incredible accomplishment. He also set two records in his high school career. He set the two mile record with a time of 9:55.71 and also set the record in the mile with a time of 4:30.21.
