2006 Winners:

I apologize.  I cannot find 2006 winners for the last 2 games of the season.  I'll keep digging.

September 18-- Nick Stephens earned the BIG Schstick! Award for making several hard hits on offense and defense.  Traditionally, this award becomes harder to win with each passing game as more players develop the passion to crush an opponent with a great hit.

September 11--, Shayne Larson earned the BIG Schstick! Award for the tremendous block he made near our goal line.  His block not only put the Essex linebacker on his back, but it enabled Tyler Havrum to score a touchdown untouched.  Way to go Shayne!

2005 Winners:

October 17-- As anticipated, this was a very physical game.  There were many good hits by both teams.  Several hits were the topic of conversation in our post-game meeting.  Therefore, it was agreed the award should go to the entire team for the great hitting from start to finish.

October 10--Alex Whigham, earned the award for the 3rd time this season!  Alex is beginning to hit with intensity on very consistent basis.  During the game against the Admirals, Alex made a blistering hit along the sideline in the third quarter.  On the very next play Alex crushed the ball carrier in the hole and threw him back for a 1 yard loss.

October 3--Alex Whigham, earned the award for his HUGE hit that opened up a hole for Cole Bumsted to score a 37-yd TD.  Alex insured he would win the award for this game by following up that hit with an even more devastating blow on the very next play!  He hit the same linebacker on the 2-pt conversion.  AWESOME!!

September 29--Dilan Druivenga, earned the award for his great solo tackles against the tough and much bigger Fremont-Mills ball carriers.  Dilan continues to give the team his best effort on the field, in the weightroom, and in the classroom.  Thanks for your example Dilan!  Keep up the good work!  Honorable Mention hits/tackles include Tanner Stubbendeck’s destruction of the QB on an option, Alex Whigham’s clean up hit that caused a fumble, Shayne Larson’s destruction of a ball carrier, and Nick Stephens hit that caused on a fumble.

September 19-- Alex Whigham, earned the award for his explosive block.  His hit not only sent the linebacker airborne and onto his back, but it also helped create a touchdown in the closing moments before halftime!  Way to go Alex!

September 12-- Jordan Williams, earned the award for the blasting hit he made on kickoff coverage.  His hit not only de-cleated the ball carrier and put him on his back, but it also caused a fumble which the Vikings recovered!  Way to go Jordan!
