Stanton Board of Education

The Stanton Community School District's main goal in using technology is to increase student achievement in all areas of the curriculum.  We have done this by utilizing new telecommunications/information technology, hardware and software, networking the building, connecting to the Iowa Communications Network, staff training, integrating technology into our curriculum, and teaching students to apply technology in their daily lives.

Technology  needs to support and enhance the teaching/learning process.  Additionally, our technology plan will help students, teachers and administrators:

*    become lifelong learners, who can access, analyze, and synthesize information from a variety of sources;

*    become more productive;

*    become more proficient in the technological skills needed to be contributing members of society;

*    use telecommunications and information technology to improve education.

Proficiency in technology is a "new basic" for students in the 21st century.  The Stanton School District's technology plan ensures that students will have the skills for success.

*    It is our goal that by the end of 11th grade, 95% of our students will be proficient in using technology to accomplish tasks, solve problems, access information and make good decisions.

*    It is our goal that all teachers be proficient in the use of technology as an instructional tool and to improve education.
