Stanton Board of Education


Students from the Stanton Community School District will be able to

·         Express their ideas fluently in written and oral communication

·         Display problem-solving skills, academic skills, life skills, and employment skills

·         Display behavior that demonstrates an acquired understanding and acceptance of diversity and the rights and dignity of themselves and others

·         Use effective teamwork, communication, leadership, and technology skills to enhance the quality of their work places and their lives

·         Possess the skills to succeed in the world in which they will work and live after high school

 

Long Range Goal #1

All K-12 students will perform at proficient levels in reading to succeed in life beyond High School  

      The following are indicators:

  1. Seventy percent of students in grades 3- 8, and 11 will score at or above the intermediate level on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and Iowa Test of Educational Development (ITED) tests in reading comprehension.

  2. Seventy percent of students in grades 4, 8, and 11 will score at or above the proficient level in reading comprehension based upon the ICAM tests.

 

Long Range Goal #2

All K-12 students will perform at proficient levels in math to succeed in life beyond High School.

The following are indicators:

  1. Seventy percent of students in grades 3- 8, and 11 will score at or above the intermediate level on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and Iowa Test of Educational Development (ITED) tests in math.

  2. Seventy percent of students in grades 4, 8, and 11 will score at or above the proficient level in math based upon the ICAM tests.

All K-12 students will perform at proficient levels in science to succeed in life beyond High School.  

The following are indicators:

  1. Seventy percent of students in grades 3- 8, and 11 will score at or above the      intermediate level on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and Iowa Test of Educational Development (ITED) tests in science.

  2. Seventy percent of students in grades 4, 8, and 11 will score at or above the proficient level in science based upon the SCASS tests.

 

Long Range Goal #4

All K-12 students will be proficient in the application of technology.  

The following are indicators:

  1. Seventy percent of students in grades 2-6 will be able to demonstrate a locally developed list of computer skills.

  2. Seventy percent of students in grades 7-12 will be able to demonstrate a locally developed list of computer skills.

 

Long Range Goal #5

All students will feel safe and connected to our drug free school.

The following are indicators:

  1. The Stanton Community School District will collect percentage data every three years from the Iowa Youth Survey of Substance Abuse and School Safety to analyze our progress.

  2. Graduation rate yearly records

  3. Attendance rate yearly records

  4. Number of disciplinary referrals made each year.
